Edited May 22nd: to say THANK YOU to everyone who has teamed up to make art!
Please be sure and join us on flickr here, you ROCK!!!
Let me just put it out there, how many of YOU know about the women of Juarez murders?
It's been going on since the early 1990's.
What's being done about it?
What's being done about it?
DOCUMENTARY FILMS
But, it's NEVER been enough.
Not nearly.
the outcome being positive seems bleak.
.. .. . . . . .
ON MY MIND
since I lived just 20 minutes
from the Juarez border
(El Paso, TX) just a few years ago
and frequented Mexico often during my upbringing.
During my last visit to El Paso
I went to a show
with my parents
where factory-worker-photography-art
was on display,
similar to this
It's hard not to take notice,or to think
that if my Grandfather
had not moved
to the US of A
that this could be me
and my sister
this happened to.
I've been piling away links.
My thought is this...
(grinning big here)
to BOMBARD
ART
DRESSES
of our own
in the hopes
THEY will write an article about this?!!!
.
It's about doing SOMETHING.
.
.
It's about doing SOMETHING.
.
Even a small something
that brings ATTENTION.
.
Who knows,
maybe ONE person from Mexico
will see our art and know that WE CARE.
The idea is you make whatever you want,
let it resemble a DRESS.
